It's Commitment Time!
Here at Elite Rugby Scholars all of our clients have now made their decisions as to which American University and rugby program they will be attending this Fall.
From the outside this may look like a quick and simple process but many of our clients have been working alongside ERS to unearth dozens of different opportunities. This often gives our talented boys and girls the difficult task of selecting where they want to spent their formative years.
We are delighted to highlight on a couple below to give you an idea of their journeys.
Chris Collins from Glasgow, Scotland headed to North Carolina!
Chris joined us from the High School of Glasgow last July and we got straight to work in marketing him to strong D1 rugby programs as he has been playing a high level of Scottish schools rugby the last few years. Including reaching national finals.
Chris visited a couple of of his preferred options and was ultimately won over by Queens and what they can offer.
Jo Hendler from England headed to Maryland
We have been working with Jo for a long time now, ever since a random meeting at a school tournament in England in 2022. We met with Jo and his father and learned much more about Jo's background. Actually Jo is a South African national but he was boarding at Felsted School, North of London.
Since coming on board we have been lucky to see Jo in action at a variety of national 7s/10s and 15s tournaments and will be exciting to see how he performs at Mount St Mary's University.
Aidan Hertz from UAE is headed to Arkansas
We connected with Aidan last summer and well and began formally working with him around Sept 2023 so we wanted to move quick to get him in front of and many D1 college programs as we could. Aidan was a bit older and had played for the United Arab Emirates national team on numerous occasions.
We recently got to meet Aidan and his family in person as we sponsored at the Dubai College 10s. We are of course delighted that he has found a home at one of the top 10 rugby programs in the U.S, Arkansas State University.
For most of our players that head out to the U.S were are connected and working with them from between 12-24 months before they are set to arrive on campus.
To do this properly and not sell yourself short, you should have a great profile that shows your academic and rugby prowess. This should then be available to be marketed across the U.S for as long as possible. Often 6-12 months so you can meet coaches, foster relationships and be very comfortable with who your top choice is going to be come decision time.
Get in touch with us now to make that initial connection and learn from us on how best to secure your American rugby dream.
