On Wednesday 17th July the USA Eagles u20s took on the hosts Scotland in the final of the 2024 u20 Trophy in Edinburgh.
The Eagles fell at the final hurdle to a quality Scottish side who have now earned promotion into the top tier u20 Championship next year.
A real positive for the American men was going undefeated in the qualifiers and tournament itself up until the final. Beating Canada, The Netherlands, Uruguay and Kenya.
For Elite Rugby Scholars we also wanted to highlight just how many players on the Eagles side were coming through the American College game which we are so dedicated to promoting.
From the 32 man squad and 9 non-travelling reserves at the start of this competition there were 27 players from 14 different American universities.

Great to see the level of competition in the States is holding its own globally. Hopefully next year they can push for the u20 Championship
